Christy Boyer, a Certified Nursing Assistant at Cedar Haven, has been awarded the Diana Heilman Education Gift for 2016! Christy is enrolled in the Licensed Practical Nurse Program at Lebanon County Career & Technology Center. Christy has been employed at Cedar Haven since September of 2012 and she is pictured above receiving the award from Donna Williams, Diana’s daughter.
Cedar Haven is very thankful for the generous gift provided in memory of Diana Heilman each year. Here is a note from her family about the impact Diana had on the lives of many throughout her career as a nurse at Cedar Haven. Please take a moment to read their words in honor of Diana’s memory and in celebration of Christy’s achievements:
“The Diana Heilman Educational gift is awarded annually to a dedicated Cedar Haven employee who is pursuing post high-school education in the Nursing field. Diana was a long-term employee of Cedar Haven, working as a nurse on various floors from 1973 until her retirement in 1998. Cedar Haven was her only place of employment for her entire nursing career. She was passionate about the work at Cedar Haven and enjoyed the interactions she had with residents. She often shared stories about the residents, some of whom, we actually felt as if we knew, too! Many of her co-workers became lifelong friends. It’s amazing how many lives she touched with her kindness and generosity!
