Our February Employees of the month have been announced and it’s time to celebrate! Please join us in thanking Susan, Troy and Gayle for their exemplary service at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center.

As always, our facility is accepting nominations for staff members who are taking extraordinary steps to improve the lives of our residents and their families. We also encourage nominations for employees who provide guidance and mentorship to the new members of our clinical staff.

“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.”

-Margaret Mead, Anthropologist

Susan Bensing, RN Supervisor

“Whenever Sue is asked to cover another shift due to employee illness, she moves her personal schedule around to accommodate the facility.”

“Sue does an outstanding job as a supervisor. She is responsive, compassionate, and fair.”

“Sue is very dependable/reliable. She communicates well with residents, families, and staff. She is always willing to help others. Enthusiastic and displays positive behavior. Sue frequently has a smile on her face which is always nice to see. We are fortunate to have Sue on our team. She has a soothing personality which reflects in a very calm personality. Her attitude is one which should be emulated. Thank you, Sue!”

Troy Herzer, LPN

“Troy has a permanent floor that he works on but when that floor is caught up, he asks the supervisors if another floor needs his assistance. Troy asks if other shifts need assistance and will willingly come in early on 11-7 shift or stay after on 3-11 shift. He treats residents and their family members with compassion and patience.”

“Troy is willing to do what it takes to get the job done. He is always willing to do what is asked and willing to help others. He frequently assists the facility when staff call off due to illness. He is cheerful and helpful to residents and staff. He helps others frequently without asking.”

Gayle Kreider, Administrative Clerk

“Gayle works very hard in Staff Education. She is not only doing all the typing on the computer for us and record keeping, she is taking phone calls from staff concerning in-services and getting together their DVDs and quiz papers. She also covers for breaks for the receptionist downstairs and will cover for the receptionist if she is off. She works in the nursing office and will assist with transcribing and attendance records. She will do whatever is asked of her without complaining. She helps pass meal trays to the residents and is very kind to them. Gayle also assists the Infection Control Director when needed.”

“Gayle works in Staff Education assisting me with paperwork involved and the nursing assistant training program. She tracks all employee in-services and sends out employee evaluation notices to the department heads. Our entire department is very grateful for all of Gayle’s hard work in making the department run smoothly. She is also cross trained to work the front desk in which she does an awesome job manning the phones and serving all the visitors and staff coming to the front desk. Gayle is willing to help wherever she is needed. We know that we will have a great day when Gayle is working in our department that day!! Gayle is truly an outstanding employee!!”
