In honor of National Safety Month, we would like to highlight Darlene Weaver, one of the leaders in safety at our facility. Darlene is our Director of Staff Education and a very dedicated and knowledgeable member of our team.

Darlene makes sure that everyone at Cedar Haven has the training and tools they need to make Cedar Haven a safe place to live and work. She makes this happen by providing practical in-service trainings, participating in the safety committee, and promoting safety on a daily basis. Many of our required safety in-services are provided once or twice a year, including fire extinguisher training, which was conducted last week.

Darlene began working at Cedar Haven 28 years ago as a nursing assistant. Next she became an LPN and subsequently earned her RN degree as an adult learner. Darlene loves working with our residents and noted that “they’ve given more to me than I ever could have given to them.”
