This Staff Spotlight was originally published in 2015 and has been updated to reflect Deb’s recent 44th anniversary at Cedar Haven. Thank you for your remarkable dedication to Cedar Haven and congratulations on your achievement!
We are kicking off our Staff Spotlight series by recognizing an experienced and accomplished staff member at our Cedar Haven Healthcare Center. On November 18th 2018, Deb Muraira celebrated her 44th anniversary working at our facility. For 36 years she worked as a Ward Secretary before spending five years in Central Supply and then ultimately moving to her current position as Director of Health Information.
The bulk of Deb’s responsibilities at Cedar Haven are related to requesting, updating, and managing medical records. With recent ICD-10 changes in medical coding and exciting technological advances at the facility such as moving away from paper charts, there are many details to keep in order. Deb spends time working in her office and attending to records on the floors of the facility, where she assists the secretaries whom she supervises.
When asked about her favorite aspect of her job, Deb remarked that working at Cedar Haven has been a great fit because she’s definitely a “people person.”
“I like everything about my job,” Deb remarked. “I have always loved the local and hometown feel here at Cedar Haven.” Some of her favorite memories from her tenure at the facility include when residents have lined up near her desk to visit and chat. She noted that “a lot was learned about that generation when they would sit and talk to you about their lives.”
Congratulations on your 44th anniversary at Cedar Haven, Deb! Thank you for all of the great work you have done and continue to do with our staff and residents.
Welcome to Cedar Haven!
