Sheilah Lausch is a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Transport Aide at Cedar Haven. She began working at the facility in 1973 and served as a CNA from 1974 to 1992. When a job opening as a transport aide became available in 1992, it was the right time for her and she applied. Sheilah always enjoyed working with the residents as a CNA and knew she could continue working with them one-on-one in this capacity.
Sheilah and the other transport aides assist residents on their trips to the nearby medical center and other destinations in the area.
Sheilah remarked that her favorite part of her job is “trying to make someone’s day better.”
She also said that she also makes a point to ease the worries of family members when she interacts with them. Sheilah has been in their shoes as well and she uses her personal experience to encourage them. She mother was cared for in a nursing facility and passed away at the age of 48. She reminds them that the best thing we can do is give our loved ones the care that they need and things will work out for the best.
When she’s not assisting the residents at Cedar Haven, you can often find Sheilah rooting on her favorite hockey team, the Hershey Bears.
All of us at Cedar Haven want to take this opportunity to thank Sheilah for her dedication to the residents and their families at our facility and for her commitment to make everyone’s day better, one trip at a time. Thank you, Sheilah!
