While many of our staff spotlights thus far have featured employees who are primarily spending time with residents as nurses, therapeutic recreation team members, or transportation aides, today we would like to recognize the important work done on a daily basis by the Professional Administrators at our facility.

April 25th through the 29th was Administrative Professionals Week. We are very thankful for our fantastic team members who fill these roles, including Marrissa Trouain, Deb Ciotti, Carol Fitzgerald, Terry Ziegler, Deb Frederick, Gisele O’Carroll, Connie Dove, Linnea Heilman, Carol Mumma, Joanna Miller, Chris Herr, Diane Shepherd, Jackie Putt, Joanne Rittle, and Gayle Kreider. These team members work in a variety of departments, from Health Information and Human Resources to the Finance Office and Staff Education.

As our Director of Admissions put it, “Cedar Haven could not operate without these dedicated professionals.”

Joanne Rittle, the Receptionist at Cedar Haven, has worked at our facility since 1997. She answers the many phone calls that come in on a daily basis. Joanne noted that even though she isn’t working up on the floors, her favorite part of working at Cedar Haven is meeting new people, including residents, family members, and visitors in the lobby.

For some of our administrative professionals, their work may be more “behind the scenes.” Nevertheless, their work is critical in helping us achieve the level of high quality care that we provide for our residents.

For example, Marrissa Troain is the Executive Assistant at Cedar Haven. Marrissa began volunteering at Cedar Haven when she was 10 years old, completed her senior project at the facility, and is now nearing her 5th year anniversary in this administrative role. In addition to her primary role of assisting our Administrator, Marrissa’s daily tasks vary from editing the “Intercom” (a monthly publication sent out to families of residents) to assisting with some in-house billing and invoices. Even though Marrissa is busy with administrative work, she still has an opportunity to visit with a resident who regularly comes and knocks on her door to say hi.
